A Brief History of Virginia's Best

The company was founded in November of 2001 as RichmondArtists.com. The original purpose was to provide Internet sales and service products to artists in the Richmond, Virginia area. This included web page design services and support services related to the sale and purchase of all types of art. As the company grew, we expanded to cover the entire state, changed our name to VirginiaArtists.net, and added many more vendors from all over the state of Virginia.

Some of those new vendors made wonderful products of other types, and encouraged us to add these to our catalog. Our first non-art product was food, which led us to other food vendors, some of which also offered related non-food items. So we continued to expand our product lines to include the products that might most interest our customers. It was soon obvious that the old company name no longer applied, so we made a second (and final) name change to Virginia's Best.

Today we sell specialty food products, fine wines and books of interest to our customers. In mid-2005 it was decided that art was no longer relevant to our mission and our success, and that product line was discontinued. At the same, we also dropped music CD's to keep our focus on the primary product lines.

In February of 2006, we expanded our regional coverage to include all the other Southern States. Now, South's Best will bring you your favorite foods and hard-to-locate wines from all over the South. Of course, Virginia's Best will continue to operate as before, and all the products will be merged into the new site.
